A UK patient can have the same procedure at home for £4,000 to £15,000, or in India for a fraction of that plus an 8½-hour flight. The honest answer depends on how much you value being able to walk into the clinic afterwards — and on who actually operates in each case.

When India is the better choice, and when it is not
If the UK figure is out of reach, or you are comparing India against a Turkish package rather than against a London surgeon, India is the stronger option: the cost is lower than Turkey once unbundled, and at DR HAIR® India the surgeon performs the procedure rather than supervising technicians.
If you can afford a surgeon-performed session in the UK from a practice where the surgeon does the extraction and implantation personally, and you value in-person follow-up, staying home is a reasonable decision. Do check the point about technicians, because a UK price does not guarantee surgeon-performed work.

How much would I save by having a hair transplant in India instead of the UK?
For a 2,000 to 3,000 graft session, typically £3,000 to £12,000 after flights and accommodation. The exact figure depends on your graft count and is given in writing after assessment of your photographs.
Is the standard of care the same?
Techniques, instruments and anaesthesia are the same. The variable in both countries is who performs the extraction and implantation. At DR HAIR® India it is the surgeon; at many clinics in both countries it is not.
How long would I be away?
Four nights is the minimum, seven is comfortable. Most patients take seven to ten days off work including travel.
Can a UK clinic handle my follow-up?
Routine follow-up is done over video with us and rarely needs a clinic visit. Any UK GP or dermatologist can examine the scalp if you ever want an in-person opinion.
