Hair transplant in India for patients from Canada

Toronto and Vancouver clinics quote eight to twenty thousand dollars for a session provincial health plans do not cover. Canada has one of the largest Indian diasporas in the world, and a large share of our overseas patients fly in from there.

What it costs in Canada

A 2,000 to 3,000 graft FUE session in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal generally falls between C$8,000 and C$20,000, priced per graft, with no coverage from provincial health plans. At DR HAIR® India the same session falls in our published range of ₹30,000 to ₹1,50,000 — roughly C$500 to C$2,500 — with Dr. Bansal performing the extraction and implantation himself.

Return flights from Toronto or Vancouver and a week in a good hotel add perhaps C$2,000 to C$3,000. The total is still a fraction of the Canadian figure.

Timing it around a family visit

Most of our Canadian patients are Punjabi, Gujarati or Rajasthani families from Brampton, Surrey, Mississauga and Calgary who visit India every year or two. The procedure is scheduled in the first week of the trip so that the redness has settled and the first two reviews are done before flying home. Accommodation cost disappears, and recovery days become time with family.

Patients with no Indian connection consult the same way, and typically use the Delhi clinic for its proximity to the airport.

Getting here from Canada

Non-stop flights from Toronto and Vancouver reach Delhi in about 14 hours. Montreal, Calgary and Edmonton connect through London, Frankfurt or the Gulf. The Delhi clinic at Rajouri Garden is about 40 minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport; the Jaipur clinic is a 50-minute onward flight or four to five hours by train, and is well placed for families visiting Rajasthan.

India is 9½ hours ahead of Toronto and 12½ hours ahead of Vancouver. Video consultations are scheduled in the Indian morning, which is the previous evening in Canada.

Visa

Canadian passport holders apply online for an Indian e-Visa. A tourist e-Visa covers a consultation and procedure; an e-Medical Visa exists for longer stays. Approval usually takes three to four working days. OCI card holders need no visa.

How long to stay

Seven nights is recommended given the flight length; four is the minimum. Consultation on day one, procedure on day two, first wash on day three, and further reviews before you fly. Reviews at one, three, six and twelve months are conducted over video from Canada.

Send photographs of the front, crown and donor area on WhatsApp first. You receive a graft range, a technique recommendation, a written plan and a total figure before booking a flight.

Questions from Canadian patients

How much does a hair transplant in India cost compared with Canada?

Canadian clinics commonly quote C$8,000 to C$20,000 for a 2,000 to 3,000 graft session. At DR HAIR® India the same falls in our published range of roughly C$500 to C$2,500, surgeon-performed. A written figure follows assessment of your photographs.

Do I need a visa?

Yes, unless you hold an OCI card. Apply online for an Indian e-Visa; approval is usually within three to four working days.

Can I schedule it around a family visit?

Yes, and most Canadian patients do. We schedule the procedure early in the trip so reviews are complete before you fly home.

How long should I stay?

Seven nights is recommended given the flight length. Four nights is the minimum.

Delhi or Jaipur?

Delhi is 40 minutes from the airport and suits a short trip. Jaipur is the main clinic and suits families visiting Rajasthan or a longer stay. The surgeon and plan are the same at both.
